Your Local Sectional Garage Door Installation & Repairs Service in Kent

Sectional garage doors provide the ultimate practical solution for your home in Kent. They can be installed to almost any shape or size of garage and are made from a variety of materials. Rather than a single panel, these doors are made up of separate horizontal sections of steel, wood or GRP. Upon opening, the door the garage door glides up and is stored on horizontal tracks underneath the garage roof. That way, there is no loss of driveway space in front of the garage, as well as full drive through width into the garage.

FAQs

  • Whereabouts in Kent to you operate?

We have a team of highly qualified garage door engineers who will travel to any location in Kent, Surrey or Sussex. From our South London base, we deliver and install garage doors in around the following towns in Kent: Ashford, Canterbury, Dartford, Edenbridge, Maidstone, Rochester, Sevenoaks, Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells.

  • Which type of garage door is best for short driveways?

Sectional garage doors and roller garage doors are most suitable for short driveways. As the door opens, it rises vertically and rolls up into the roof of your garage without restricting the internal or external space. That way, all the driveways space is fully accessible for parking your car.

  • Can you carry out garage door repairs?

We most certainly can. If your garage door has developed an operational fault or cosmetic or structural damage, simply call our office on 01737 309103 to arrange for one of our experienced engineers to come and visit. Once we have established the exact problem, we will provide you with a full repair quote.

  • How should I measure up for a sectional garage door?

To get the right fit for your garage door, it is essential to have accurate measurements. Crucially, you need to know whether the installation will go inside or in-between a structural opening, as the relevant measurements will be different. Take a look at our handy measuring guide for more detailed guidance and advice.

  • What is the lead time for installation?

Since each of our supplied garage doors is made to measure, and manufacturing times can vary widely from job to job, it is usually not possible to provide a guaranteed delivery dated when you place your order. We will of course keep you fully updated with progress and contact you as soon as we are able to arrange a delivery date.

  • Do you price match against your competitors?

At Wessex Garage Doors, we always strive to provide you with the best possible value for money for your new garage door installation. In the unlikely event that you have been offered a better price on a like-for-like product elsewhere, please let us know and we will do our best to offer you a better deal.

  • How do sectional garage doors attach to the garage opening?

Sectional garage doors ideally need to be fitted to the back of the structural opening or, if need be, they can be fitted in between the opening. There are several considerations to make, such as whether there’s an internal face and how much headroom it will leave. We can assist you with this during the site survey to determine if a sectional garage door is the right fit for your property.

  • How much headroom will I need for a sectional door?

For most sectional garage doors in the UK, you’ll need between 100mm and 220mm of headroom to accommodate the tracks – this is above the height of the door you order. If there’s not sufficient space in your garage, you’ll need to look at how the gap is finished between the top of the door and the shortfall in space. This can usually be sorted with a steel fascia section.

  • Do you offer a warranty on your doors?

We’re confident in the quality of the doors we supply and our high standard of workmanship, which is why we provide a one-year installation warranty from the date of install. This is in addition to the manufacturers’ terms and conditions.

  • Do you offer repairs for sectional garage doors?

Yes, our team can help you if your sectional garage door has developed a fault or is in need of repair. We’ll arrange a site visit to assess the problem and provide you with a detailed quote for the work required. Please contact us to arrange a visit.

  • How much will it cost to have a sectional garage door installed?

Our installation fee starts at £150 though more complicated installations, such as automated doors, will incur a higher fee of around £250. If you’d like us to install your new garage door, get in touch and we can arrange a free site survey at a time that’s convenient to you to provide you with a more detailed quote.
