How do I measure the opening if I wish to install new garage doors myself?
For DIY installations, you need to measure the height and width of the structural opening, taking into account variations across the space. Measure at the left edge of the aperture, the centre, then the right edge, and the top, middle and bottom, to get accurate measurements. Always use the smallest of the width and height measurements, so that your new door will fit in the opening.
