AUTOMATED GARAGE DOOR FAQS
Wessex Garage Doors supplies and install automated garage doors throughout the South East and beyond. Here are some of the most frequently asked questions we get on roller garage doors and the answers to them.
Do I need to do anything to prepare for my door installation?
We will need you to ensure there’s clear access on either side of your garage doors, so we can safely remove the old one and install your new door. But you don’t need to completely clear the garage out – just make sure there’s a couple of metres space either side so we can get to work straight away.
How long are your garage doors guaranteed for?
We’re very confident in the quality and value of the doors we supply and install, so we provide a one-year installation warranty from the data of installation, along with the manufacturers’ terms and conditions. If you would like more information, please contact our team and we would be happy to help.
Can I automate my existing garage door?
You don’t need to replace your entire garage door if you simply want to add automation. It’s no problem for us to install an automatic opening to your manual door in the majority of cases. Get in touch to arrange a free site survey.
What happens if there’s a power cut?
All our automated doors have a mechanism to allow you to open the door manually if the power goes out. If you can access the door from inside your home, you can simply use a pulley on the inside of the door to open it. If not, you’ll have a key supplied with the door when it’s installed that will open it from the outside.
How much does installation cost?
Our standard installation costs start at £150, and electric or more complex installations can incur a higher fee of around £250. If you would like us to install your new garage door, let us know and we’ll arrange a free site survey at a time that’s convenient to you to provide you with a more accurate quote.
