If you would like our technicians to remove your old garage door and dispose of it safely, in preparation for a new garage door installation by Wessex Garage Doors, we will be more than happy to help. A small additional fee will be charged for this service.
How do I correctly measure the opening for a DIY garage door installation?
If you wish to install your own garage door, you need to measure the width and height of the structural opening, taking into account that there may be variations across the space. To get the most accurate measurements, take readings at the left, centre and right edge, then the top, middle and bottom of the aperture. Always use the smallest of the width and height measurements, so that your new door will fit snugly into the opening.
How often should I have my garage door serviced?
Assuming that your garage door is in regular daily use, it is highly recommended that you have it serviced at least once a year to ensure the door remains in top condition. At Wessex Garage Doors, we offer regular service package options as well as a bespoke service plan when you purchase your new door with us.

This foam core insulated - outward opening - garage door has been made to measure in the customer`s colour choice - Window Grey (RAL 7040) - and in their panel design choice - Centre Rib Vertical Smooth.
This garage door has come complete with hidden security hinges, internal bolts, overhead stays, deadlocking latch lock and stainless steel latch handles, and a raised door threshold.

On St George`s Day we thought it appropriate to display some red and white 🏴
Zsolt and Ian have installed a Novoferm Steel Vertical outward opening side hinged garage door in Novoferm`s Monarch Red (RAL 3003 Ruby Red). It was fitted together with a white steel frame to suit and finished off with white PVC.
Our customer opted for 50/50 split doors although there is the option to order a 2/3 1/3 combination.

`I needed to change two old small single garage doors to one large double door as was having issues with car access. I was originally looking at wooden doors but was shocked by how crazy expensive they are these days. Mark at Wessex recommended I look at a wood effect GRP door and TBH I was skeptical until I saw it. I thought would look quite cheap but I`m delighted with it. Looks amazing, people have no idea it`s not timber from the outside and saves a load of maintenance and was soooo much more affordable.
